Erin Kelly, director of Ahimsa Yoga Center, has been practicing yoga for nearly 20 years. Her formal training
began with Ruthanne Lundeberg of Mama Nirvana Yoga Studio in Easthampton.
Erin has continues to practice with Patty Townsend of Center for Yoga and Healing Arts in Amherst where
she completed 500 hour teacher training in Embodyoga, and Embody Ashtanga Vinyasa. She has also
completed training in prenatal yoga, yoga for children, and yoga for veterans with PTSD.
Erin's love and enthusiasm for yoga is contagious. She values yoga because it has been the key to her
personal change and transformation, bringing clarity and joy into her life.
She teaches a clear and concise Hatha Yoga class. Her classes balance strength, flexibility, effort and
surrender.

First introduced to basic yoga postures and sun salutations in 2002 as part of an acting movement class
that she took in college. After starting the semester barely able to reach past her knees in a forward bend
and ending the semester able to reach her toes, she realized that yoga should definitely be a prt of her life.
As she continued her yoga journey, she realized that the benefits she was receiving from her practice went
much deeper than physical flexibility and strength; she began to find a level of gratitude, self-acceptance
and calmness of spirit that she had never experienced before.
Justine decided she wanted to share her joy and love of yoga and completed her 200-hr teacher certification
at Core Power Yoga in Minneapolis, MN. Justine continues to explore and practice yoga daily with teachers
all over the Pioneer Valley. Justine strongly believes in the power of breath to guide movement and release
the mind, and her classes have a strong focus on flowing and moving with the rhythm of each inhale and
exhale.
Sara discovered yoga in 2000, studying under Erin Kelly and completed a 200 hour training in embodyoga
under Patty Townsend in 2007. She has a love for yoga that bubbles over in her teaching-is in fact why she
is teaching. There is a strong desire to share what she has found with others-and she does so in a practice
that includes quiet sitting, breath work, and movement. Her hope it that lessons learned on the mat are
integrated into life off the mat. She has found that yoga is not something practiced for a set period of time,
but a gift to be lived each moment.
Sara has been a practicing pediatrician in Chicopee since 1983. She has found that when the opportunity
arises, she is able to integrate her yoga teaching into her medical practice, introducing the concept of the
breath and relaxation to her young patients and their families. She is grateful for the love of her husband
and family, as she has pursued her love of yoga.

Practicing yoga to honor our bodies, for total health and well being.

Like many, Heather first tried yoga at a local gym because she was bored with her regular exercise routine.
While the practice immediately resonated in her body, it also offered a clarity of mind and lightness of heart
that she had never experienced through any other movement or therapeutic practice. She found yoga could
focus her prior to a performance on stage, relax her after a difficult day teaching high school, or encourage
the letting go habitual behaviors. Its benefits seemed so far-reaching that after developing a personal
practice in earnest, she sought her initial teacher certification in 2003 in order to share her passion. She
remains a student
In 2009, she completed a 200 hour training program in embodyoga with Patty Townsend and is currently
enrolled in the embodyoga 500 play, explore and surrender. She delights in sharing how principles of asana
extend to other areas of our lives and encourages students to seek feelings of wholeness and vitality as
opposed to the "look" of a particular posture.
Heather is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College, a new mama, and once again a resident of South Hadley,
having returned to the Pioneer Valley with her husband, Patrick. She is delighted to share her practice with
the community.
Emily first tried yoga during a gym class in high school. As her father is originally from India, she began to
develop more interest in yoga as a way of connecting with her heritage. She then proceeded to take yoga
classes throughout her college years and loved them. She would teach her friends yoga from what she had
learned. It truly became a way to find deep relaxation, focus and to handle any stresses which came her
way. During her junior year, Emily studied Embodyoga in Amherst, MA. Soon after, she realized that she
wanted to teach yoga to children. She did more training at Childlight Yoga in Dover New Hampshire, during
the summer of 2010.
Emily graduated from Mt Holyoke College in 2010, having majored in Psychology and Dance. Her interests
lie in how the mind and body are connected. She is also interested in meditation and kirtan, another form of
yoga practiced through music and singing. Emily feels that yoga, meditation, and kirtan all allow her to feel
more centered and joyful.
Emily's love for children will be seen in her classes. Her classes will be a combination of yoga , creative
movement, stories, age appropriate meditation and deep relaxation. She wants to help children benefit
from yoga, just as she does!
Growing up as a ballet and modern dancer, Zoé has always been fascinated with the human anatomy and
the movement potential of the body. In 2008, a hip and knee injury brought her to Corepower Yoga in
Boulder, Colorado. Several of her friends at her dance school, Boulder Ballet, had taken up yoga for injury
rehabilitation and encouraged her do follow suit. The first yoga class she ever stepped foot into was a
heated Bikram yoga class with her younger sister and fellow dance friend. The energy, difficulty, and fluidity
of each posture left her feeling alive, cleansed and pain-free.
aware of the healing benefits of yoga within all aspects of her life both mentally and physically. In the
summer of 2009 she decided to take the Corepower Yoga 200 Hour Teacher Training. Since becoming
certified to teach Vinyasa yoga, Zoé has been an apprentice of several inspiring yoga teachers in the
Boulder area and has taught several classes for the dance community of both Boulder and Mount Holyoke
College. Zoé is currently a senior at Mount Holyoke College, majoring in Biology and Dance. She is thrilled to
be teaching at Ahimsa Yoga Center this year.
